Upcoming concerts

Hi -

Here's some information on upcoming concerts of interest to Secret Music listeners in the Hudson Valley area. Hope to see you at some of these shows!

Friday, April 26, 2013, 8PM - Guitarist Gerry O'Beirne will be playing at the Rosendale Cafe in Rosendale, NY. Gerry is a guitar player from Ireland and other points. I really enjoyed his first CD, Half Moon Bay and I'm glad to see him coming to the Hudson Valley. For more info, here's a link:

Friday, April 26, 2013, 7PM - Pianists Louis Landon, Joe Bongiorno and Greg Maroney will perform on the same bill at the Rockland Conservatory of Music in Pearl River, NY. These are 3 great piano players who I have all played on my show. I've interviewed Louis and Greg live on Secret Music, and Louis has played live for me before, too. Definitely worth the drive. Tuesday, April 30, 2013, 7PM. Guitarists Brian Henke, Helen Avakian, Mark Sganga and Christopher Brellochs will perform at the Dutchess Hall Theater at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Brian is a great guy and talented guitarist and Helen is a renowned local guitarist. I don't know the others, but they're both well known guitarists. If you're looking for an evening of great acoustic guitar music, this is a must see (even though it's on a Tuesday night). Here's a link for more info:

Wednesday, May 15, 2013, 8PM - Trumpet player Ben Neill will be playing at the Dogwood in Beacon, NY along with Theo Metz. I'm not sure it it'll be ambient, jazz or whatever, but Ben is one of the most talented trumpeters out there. And he lives right here in the Hudson Valley. He also invented the mutantrumpet, which must be seen to be believed. Here's a link for more info:

Wednesday, May 22, 2013, 7PM - Cellist Matthew Schoening will appear at Jim Cole's Gathering Room concert series in Glastonbury, CT. I know it's a long drive on a work night, but it's a good show. Matthew is a great cellist, and has family in the Hudson Valley. Hopefully he'll play closer to home, too. Here's a link for more info:
